Afternoon Tea at the Driehaus Museum for Downton Abbey Exhibit in Chicago!
Admittedly, my friend and I have never seen the popular television series and chose not to visit the exhibit. Instead, we enjoyed the delicious afternoon English tea for around $55.00 per person.
The food was perfect and plentiful. My friend especially loved the rich tasting chocolate brownies. I loved how the tea ended with wonderful dark chocolate covered vanilla ice cream bon-bons.
Savory items included: finger roast beef sandwiches, finger egg salad sandwiches, and finger cucumber and Boursin cheese sandwiches. Desserts were plentiful with chocolate covered walnuts, lemon cookies, along with the aforementioned brownies. Wine is also included along with scones and Chantilly cream.
The tea ends its service on Friday, May 6, 2016, although the exhibit has been extended until Sunday, May 29, 2016.
Check it out if get the chance for a lovely afternoon. Don't be afraid to ask for seconds or thirds. Service was exceptional!
