Breakfast at The Arcade Restaurant in Memphis, TN

After extensive research on finding a great breakfast spot in Memphis, I settled on the legendary, Arcade Restaurant.  Memphis has plethora of great southern restaurants and I was not disappointed in my choice at all.  The food tasted like home-cookin'.

I ordered the sweet potato pancakes, sausage, scrambled eggs with cheese, hash browns,  and orange juice.  I couldn't have made a better meal at home.  Well maybe, I would've used a better-tasting cheese for the eggs.  My dining companion would've preferred real maple syrup.   Other than that, the meal was extremely satisfying.

Plus, we asked about the legendary Elvis Presley booth and our waitress didn't hesitate at all to let us switch booths.  We took photos and had a blast sitting where the 'King of Rock Roll' enjoyed fried peanut butter and banana sandwiches.  I would not hesitate to return to Memphis' oldest restaurant for this hearty breakfast next time I'm in Memphis.  A truly memorable meal.

The 'Best Meal on Beale Street Combo' at Blues City Cafe in Memphis, TN

Recently, I had the pleasure of indulging in this delectable feast at Blues City Cafe in Memphis.  The extensive menu lists the 'Best Meal on Beale Street Combo' as an offering.  An offering I decided to try because I was curious to sample both Memphis fried catfish and barbecue ribs.

Within a few luscious bites, I became a believer.  Just look at the photo and imagine - French fries, Cole slaw, tartar sauce, wet or dry ribs (I forgot to ask for Memphis-style dry rub), catfish, baked beans, Texas toast - all this for $18.95 + tax.  Definitely money well spent and more than enough to eat!
